Future Election Information 

Election Day - May 4, 2024 
The first day to file an Application for Place on Ballot, for Mayor and City Council Alderman Positions 4 and 5,
in the May 4, 2024 General Election will be January 17, 2024; the last day to file an
Application for Place on the Ballot will be February 16, 2024.

• For City Elections, the Early Voting and Election Day Polling Place is the Sabine County Courthouse Annex, Early Voting Center which is located at 280 Main Street, Hemphill, Sabine County, Texas. The door to the Early Voting Center is actually on Texas Street in the back of the building located on 280 Main Street. The Early Voting Clerk is Pat Vrooman, Election Judge.  The City of Hemphill contracts with the Hemphill Independent School District to conduct a joint election.  The City Secretary/ Accountant, Kelli Beall, is responsible for conducting the City's election.
• If you are unsure of your polling place or early voting polling place for a county election, you may contact Jamie Clark, Sabine County Clerk.  Her phone number is (409) 787-3786 and her office is located in the Sabine County Administration Building located at 280 Main Street on the Square in Hemphill. 

•Please note that in order to be a qualified voter in a City of Hemphill Election and to be a qualified candidate in a City of Hemphill Election eligible to serve on the city council, you must live and be registered to vote in the incorporated city limits of the City of Hemphill.  This means that your PERMANENT RESIDENCE ADDRESS on your voter registration, must reflect an address within the boundaries of the incorporated city limits of the City of Hemphill.  Just because you have a Hemphill, Texas address does NOT mean that you live in the incorporated city limits of the City of Hemphill.  If you are in doubt call the Sabine County Voter Registrar at (409) 787-2257.  (Tenga en cuenta que para ser un votante calificado en una ciudad de elección Hemphill y ser un candidato calificado en una ciudad de Hemphill elección elegible para servir en el Concejo Municipal, usted debe vivir y estar registrado para votar en los límites de ciudad incorporados de la ciudad de Hemphill enfermo. sólo porque usted tiene un Hemphill, la dirección de Texas no significa que usted vive en los límites de la ciudad incorporada de la ciudad de Hemphill. )
