Utility Bill Payment Policy

ATTENTION CITY OF HEMPHILL UTILITY CUSTOMERS:

Please be aware that there has been a change in our extension policy.  Starting October 1, 2018 utility customers will only be allowed to file one extension per quarter per year.  This means that only one extension will be able to be filed in the months of January – March, one in the months of April – June, one in the months of July – September and one in the months of October – December.  Remember bills are due the 10th of each month, after the 15th of each month a $30 late charge will be assessed.  If you have any past due amount on your utility account with the City of Hemphill as of 4 pm on the 19th of each month and you do not have a completed and signed extension in our office,  then your utilities WILL be disconnected starting at 8 am on the 20th of the month.  There will be NO EXCEPTIONS to this policy.  If you have an emergency situation arise, you need still need to communicate that to our office and sign an extension.   If you are disconnected, you will have to pay a $45 reconnect fee and/or after hours reconnect fee of $90, and weekend/holiday reconnect of $120.  If you have a question, please call our office at (409) 787-2251, during regular business hours.
